June Wine Club Products Released

After another successful month of our “Inside Track” Wine Club, the JUNE edition has now been released to our Non-Members, and added to our web store.  Here’s a snapshot of the tasting notes we included in June:

Nosis Verdejo 2010

Our first selection Nosis Verdejo, comes from Rueda, Spain. It’s 100% Verdego, selected from 35 year old vines, grown in terraces over the Duero River. The Fermentative is cry-maceration at 46°. Alcoholic fermentation at 64° in steel containers. After fermentation, the wine rests for two months before bottling.  It’s a very Light yellow color that offers intensity and complexity in the nose, aromas of cantaloupe and peach carry through on the fleshy palate, ultimately washed by a nice blast of acidity. With prominent fruit flavors and hints of freshly cut grass, this wine is perfect to quaff for any warm day, and the minerality will lend it to pair well with any light summer fare.   [BUY NOW]

Carmine Granata Semillon 2012

Up next we offer to you Carmine Granata Semillon. This beauty is 100% Semillon from Lujan du Cuyo, Mendoza, from vines that average 60 years in age. When we tasted the wine it showed pale, lemon/gold color. On the nose, were aromas of peach, apricot, pineapple, and honey with some slight citrus notes.  On the palate, the wine is full, rich in flavors of all that tropical fruit and finishes creamy and refreshing. Highly recommended with: grilled poultry, pasta with soft sauces, pan roasted white fish and it would be IDEAL when serving desserts.  [BUY NOW]

Nals Margreid Schiava Galea 2011

Last but certainly not least, our lone red selection for the month will be a very interesting red we selected from Alto Adige, Italy. Nals Margreid Schiava Galea 2011. Nope, I never heard of it either, and truthfully everything I have ever tasted or bought from this region was white … go figure. Anyway, it’s 100% Schiava and this red wine is distinguished by its characteristics which result from its cultivation on the outstanding Galea Vineyard. All hand picked in this old school family vineyard. Low yields, some vines of more than a hundred years and rigorously selected grapes guarantee the production of a wine with a convincing quality potential. This Schiava is typified by appealing color, and is pleasant in smell and aroma.  Wonderful fruit, soft silky tannin, and a lingering finish make this a great warm-weather red that isn’t too heavy, and most certainly can be served slightly chilled. An adaptable accompaniment to almost all dishes grilled, and anything with a little acidity in it!  [BUY NOW]
