An Evening With Niner Wines

We are proud to announce that we have rescheduled our Niner Wine Estates – Dinner with Dick and Pam Niner.  Though we enjoy all our events, some are definitely more special than others.  Please join us Friday, March 22nd at 6:30pm at the Capital Grille in Stamford, CT.  Welcome in proprietors Dick and Pam Niner, of Niner Wine Estates of Paso Robles, California for an evening, menu, wine and dinner you won’t want to miss.

A bit of history regarding Niner Wines:

Owner Dick Niner’s attachment to Paso Robles and the bounty of its land came from his upbringing on a rural farm in West Virginia.  Niner followed a somewhat unusual path from farm to vinyard; out of Princeton University and Harvard Business School., he spent over 30 years successfully investing in small businesses.  It was, in fact, a business deal that first brought him to San Luis Obispo County in 1996.  That deal led him to spend large amounts of time in the county and re-kindled his interest in farming and the wine industry.  Bootjack Ranch, a 224 acre property on Highway 46 in Paso Robles became the foundation of Niner Wine Estates in February 2001.  It was followed two years later by the acquisition of 139 acre Heart Hill Vinyard, which gets its name from a natural oak-tree filled depression on the hillside in the perfect shape of a heart.

We will enjoy seven (7) wonderful courses from Chef Matt Schmalle, specially paired up with seven (7) stunning wines from Award Winning Winemaker Amanda Cramer.  She was the Assistant Winemaker at the esteemed Paradigm Winery in Oakville.  Working under the direction of famed winemaker Heidi Barrett, until she came on board at Niner as Head Winemaker in 2004.

The selections will include Sauvignon Blanc, Bootjack Ranch Cabernet, Fog Catcher Red, Sangiovese, Syrah, Twisted Spur (Bordeaux Style Blend), and Merlot.  We have tasted these wines on a number of occasions and didn’t hesitate to get to the group at Capital Grille and have them work with us on this!  Thank you as always for the continued support, PLEASE do not hesitate.  There are only about 40 spots available…  and this will be a GREAT evening.
