Bodegas Triton Avante Mencia 2009
90 Points!!
Bodega Triton 2009 Avante Mencia

Only $9.99/bottle! ($119.88/case)The 2009 Avante is 100% Mencia sourced from multiple vineyards with an average age of 43 years. The wine was aged in both stainless steel (30%) and French oak (70%) for 5 months. It offers up notes of earthy minerals, a hint of balsamic, black cherries, and violets leading to a nicely proportioned, sweetly fruited, savory red with excellent volume and length. It is an outstanding value for drinking over the next 4-5 years.

Critical Acclaim
“Vivid ruby. Highly fragrant aromas of red and dark berries, cola, smoky herbs and minerals. Juicy and precise, offering tangy black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors, with a strong mineral overtone. The mineral note carries through a long, sappy and refreshingly bright finish, which features a hint of spicy oak. This wine’s energy makes it drink well now, but it’s balanced to age for at least a few more years.”
